WORK MOTIVATION, STRESS AND WELL-BEING
Introduction
When looking at most of the employees, people don't just wake up in the morning and
go to work but there are several things which motivate them to go to job. Most of the
employees work because their workplace is able to provide something that impact
significantly on their morale. People work because they have their own goals which need to
be accomplished and those goals act as a motivation. Stress is part of life since people cannot
live without stress provided there is an interaction. The working environment can sometimes
bring stress to the employees and in the long run, it might affect their motivation. The wellbeing of an individual extends beyond personal health because it impacts on their physical,
mental and social life which must be positive. When everything that affects individuals turns
out to be positive, it means that they have a high level of well-being. Generally, work
motivation, stress, and well-being are related when it comes to human behaviors in
organizations.
Ways that employees can be motivated
There are different things which can motivate the employees in their day to day
activities. One is the creation of tasks which are beneficial to the employee. When looking at
most of the organizations, every employee wants to feel that their job stands out to be
different as compared to the other employees. This can be achieved by enhancing job
specialization where each employee can be given the tasks that they are well trained for. An
example, if an individual has skills in accounting, he/she can work in the finance department
and do a good job. This way, the employees will feel that their job affects the success of the
organization.
Employee's appreciation is also necessary (Bradler et al., 2016). Sometimes people
love being told simple words such as "nice work" or "good job" which only takes a few

seconds for the employers. These words act as a motivation to work hard because their work
is being appreciated. Another appreciation to the employees can be in terms of rewards.
Those who work best may be rewarded from time to time so that even the others can be
motivated to work hard and be rewarded. There are many types of rewards which exist such
as giving gifts, promotions, or taking the employees on tripe or buying for them lunch.
Setting goals can also be a way of motivating the staff members in an organization.
The employers should be able to create goals that need to be accomplished by their
employees (Bradler et al., 2016). Every organization must have goals because they are the
once that drive workers to work for an extra mile. An example, a company wants to increase
their sales in a given month; ever...
