Question Description

You have been building pieces of your Marketing Plan each week throughout this course. This week it is time to put all the pieces together and add the “executive summary”. The executive summary is a brief overview of your plan, usually 1 - 2 pages long, and is placed at the beginning section of the Marketing Plan.

You will use your assignments from the previous weeks to complete your Marketing Plan. Additional information may also be used/required. Be sure to incorporate any feedback you may have received from your instructor when submitting your final Marketing Plan.

Your Marketing Plan should include (but is not limited to):

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

  • Use font size 12 and 1” margins.
  • Include cover page and reference page.
  • At least 80% of your paper must be original content/writing.
  • No more than 20% of your content/information may come from references.
  • Use at least three references from outside the course material, one reference must be from EBSCOhost. Text book, lectures, and other materials in the course may be used, but are not counted toward the three reference requirement.
  • Cite all reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) in the paper and list on a reference page in APA style.

References must come from sources such as, scholarly journals found in EBSCOhost, CNN, online newspapers such as, The Wall Street Journal, government websites, etc. Sources such as, Wikis, Yahoo Answers, eHow, blogs, etc. are not acceptable for academic writing.

Executive Summary
Every business or organization should have a marketing plan which is a roadmap that helps
to guide marketing activities within a certain period of time. Shas's holiday décor is a retail store
that offers home decorator fabrics and other complementary accessories and resources. This store
offers holiday decorators specifically designed decorations. It offers more a wide range of fabrics
available at any time and with a large number of sample fabrics for custom orders. This enables
customers to have a touch and feel of the fabrics as they take them home for special occasions. It
also helps them in making the purchase decisions.
This business has learned a lot from previous operations and it has come a time where there
is a need to make some key decisions. It is now a period of looking back at the past and make
efforts to set a strategic direction that will help the organization's future. This will, therefore, be
the primary purpose of this plan as it will address the business locations, products, finance and
service issues that will form a basis for the success of the business. Shas's holiday décor has a local
informational content website but it does not give adequate attention to discover its marketing
potential. The site offers informational content but it makes no effort to enhance the image of the
business or produce more revenue.
Marketing research shows some specific and growing needs Shas's holiday décor has to
address in the local retail market in which it operates. There are also possibilities that web sales
will enhance the sales as it plays a great role in connecting the business with its customers. The
main challenge this business face is that most of the target customers might not even be interested
to shop on the web. Web shopping for decorator fabrics proves to be a challenge for many and
