management of the performance of the system and locating any problems in these networks
arose. Initially, computers were connected to one central computer which was known as a
mainframe, and they would always troubleshoot the mainframe in case any problem was
experienced within the network. Hence in the 1980s, the Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) was established to cater for this need while making sure that the services offered by
these networks are not downgraded and to make sure that if there were a problem in the web, it
can be easy to locate and fix. SNMP is a standard protocol that collects information on devices
on an Internet Protocol network. It organizes and modifies this information as a way to change
the behavior of machines. It is broadly used on devices such as modems, servers, routers and
many more, while the IETF defines the standards and specifications under which it is running .it
runs on the TCP/IP suite application layer as a way to facilitate how information is exchanged
between the devices in this computer networks. It consists of three components; the managers

Tutor went the extra mile to help me with this essay. Citations were a bit shaky but I appreciated how well he handled APA styles and how ok he was to change them even though I didnt specify. Got a B+ which is believable and acceptable.
