The are a of a rectangle is given by  L*W

 First  we convert metres into kilometres:

 Length 300/1000 = 0.3 km

 Width 150/1000 = 0.15km

 Therefore the area of the field  = L* W

                                                    = 0.3 * 0.15

                                                     = 0.045 Km^2
