White privilege is defined as the societal treat that benefits individuals or groups of
individuals whom the society classifies, recognizes or categorizes as white in some nations, over
and above what is ordinarily experienced by people who are not white under similar economic,
social or political conditions or circumstances (case, 2012). On the other hand, colorism is
defined as the principle that the lighter people in the society or those that have a fairer skin are
treated with more regard that the individuals who have darker skin (Marira and Mitra, 2013).
Therefore, colorism is essentially discrimination founded on individuals' skin colors. Colorism
