The story of Memory and Place
In the present digital age of keeping memories of past events, technological
advancements have seen the use of pictures, films, movies, and documentaries in use. It is a step

from the ancient word of mouth that entailed storytelling that occurred between the older and the
young generation. However, storytelling is still in use despite the introduction of digital devices
for example cameras. In the film, “How does place shape who we are?” the speakers, Dominic,
Erica, and Valentina give stories about their experiences during their research projects in
different countries. Storytelling is a subject of the memory of backgrounds and places.
