IT in the organization is the division within a corporation that is responsible for
establishing, maintaining and monitoring information technology services and systems. In
recognized companies, IT may entail strategic planning to ensure that all initiatives of the
program support the goals of the business. The structure of IT varies in different corporations
and can be decentralized or centralized depending on the company's requirements. In large
enterprises, Chief Information Officer (CIO) manages the IT department, but smaller businesses
might report up to the operations manager or director. The IT department is responsible for the
function of communication, data management such as storing, marketing through media such as
the internet, and improvement of processes such as video conferencing.
