Middleville has faced many challenges in recruiting and retaining nurses and other clinical employees. organization. Due to healthcare reforms and changes in regulations, hospital care is transitioning
from volume-based care to value-based care. As a result, the traditional roles of governing
boards have changed to meet these reforms. As a result, the board has a major role in setting and
overseeing objectives and the strategic goal of the hospital. Some of the fundamental roles of the

within an acceptable risk profile. In this regard, the role of the board involves strategic alignment

implementing strategic plans. Also, the board monitors and controls the hospital’s financial
performance to ensure efficiency in resource allocation and utilization and accountability.
