Hello friend...Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question :-)
Discuss how the SQ3R reading strategy is similar to and/or different from the way you read course material previously.
Course books are regularly perused in the same way that different books are perused for joy – starting with the first page of the section and perusing to the end of the part, without ceasing. While this technique is fine for books, it is not prone to result in the level of comprehension and maintenance required for most course readings and the classes they are doled out to. SQ3R gives an alternate system for perusing course books that will no doubt upgrade comprehension and maintenance of material. It's not a speedier approach to peruse a part in a course book, yet it is liable to decrease the measure of time you should spend considering the material promptly preceding the test. This outcome originates from additional time being spent really understanding the section while it is at first perused. Hence the study time gets to extend your comprehension of the material.
Explain how using SQ3R improved your comprehension of the course materials.
SQ3R is a five-step process:
- Survey-This step helps you gather the information that is necessary to focus on the chapter and formulate questions for yourself as you read. It’s not necessary to have answers to your questions at this step in the process – answers will come later.
- Question-Now that you have surveyed the entire chapter and built a framework for understanding, it is time to begin the reading process. This step and the next two, reading and reciting, are repeated over and over as you read the chapter.
- Read-Reading each section fills in the information around the mental structures you have created by surveying the chapter and developing questions about each heading.
- Recite Review-Reciting material as you go retrains your mind to concentrate and learn as you read. When you can answer your questions about the section that you’re reading, move to the next section and repeat the question, read, recite process again. Use this for every section in the chapter
After this i note down any questions that i may have about the subject. These could be the questions that led me to read it in the first place, or ones that i thought of during your survey.
Also, i think about what else i want to achieve from this reading. What do i need to find out from this material? What am i most interested in learning? And how will this information help me? after this i read over the article and try and memorize all the answers from the queries i had...Finally, i schedule a regular review of the material to keep it fresh in your mind. i do this after a week, after a month, and after several months – this helps to embed the material into your long-term memory.
Here is the complete answer! Please let me know if you need any clarification. Please best with a 5*. Thank you and Godbless!!!
