  Research evidence indicates existence of a strong relationship between good communication and healthcare. Better communication skills among practitioners,and between practitioners wand patients proves to be a better tool in getting to diagnose,manage ,follow up and satisfy a patient.

   Importance includes:

1.Establishing of a background. A background is a better epidemiological tool used to estimate chances of a clinical condition. Clear communication skills including patience and exploration are key to a better background establishment.

2. Adherence . This is the agreed behaviors that the patient is supposed to follow after discharge,e.g dosage. Better communication skills makes them understand and follow instructions very well.

3. Diagnostic accuracy.History is a key aspect of establishing a diagnosis. Good communication skills are essential in history taking.

4. Patients satisfaction

   Patients satisfaction . For example acknowledgement of physical,mental and physiological functioning of a patient ,as part of decision making , improves satisfaction. Good communications allows the patient enough time to tell his or her story ,meeting patients expectations.

   Team satisfaction. Good communication are essential in success of a partnered operation like in the theater, and also for job dedication by seniors.

   Pattients' safety. Most adverse effects are associated with human error. With good listening and communication skills ,this errors are munimized.

   To reduce risk of malpractice. The root cause of malpractice is the communication breakdown between the physician and the patient.
