Recently, companies have developed navigation applications, providing directions in real time.
There is several navigation applications used in the world today; they include Google,
Foursquare, Bing, and Apple maps. Navigation apps are used in directing movements. Three
basic map-based services provided by Google include Google Transit, Google Maps Web, and
Google Ride Finder (Sulleyman, 2017). If a person has the application, they don’t need to drive
or walk around a place widely; neither do they need a paper map. A navigation map is guides
people to their destination. This study will explore the most used navigation application, Google
Google Maps
Google maps are used mostly by smartphone users. This application is useful to over a
million people every day, from regular travellers to taxi drivers. People use the application for
different various reasons. The functions of Google maps include locating a place using latitude
and longitude information and giving personalized information of the destination a person is
visiting, for instance, one can identify the distance they have travelled and develop a timeline of
visited places.
Another incredible function of Google is informing the user about traffic and offering
alternative routes with less traffic. Information on satellite view is also available for users to
view photographic memories of particular areas. Need to download maps to use offline, and then
