  • Discuss the principle required benefits an organization must provide to its organization.
  • Discuss two additional benefits the organization may consider providing its employees (these are not required by law) and how these benefits would positively impact the organization.

There are a number of labor policies in the US that govern the compensation of the
employees. In return, these have an impact on the practices that an organization adopts, its
operational costs, and its financial performance. In addition to these laws, there are a number
of benefits that organizations provide to their employees in order to improve their
performance and that of the organization. This paper will discuss the role of benefits in an
organization, principle benefits that organizations must provide their employees, and the
optional benefits that an organization could provide to its employees that could create a
positive impact to both the employee and the organization.
The role of benefits
There are various benefits that an organization could provide to its employees. One of
these is a conducive workplace environment. Others include compensation, leaves, insurance,
and childcare, among others. In the case of compensation, distinct benefits include wages,
commissions, and bonuses, among others. Regarding insurance, organizations could cover the
health of their employees and their families, provide them with life insurance, and provide
them with retirement benefits. All these have benefits to both the organization and the
employee. Other than benefiting the employee, an organization can benefit from improved
employee loyalty. According to McHugh and Ma (2014), employees who are paid well and
provided other non-monetary benefits are likely to be more satisfied than those who are paid
