Nutrition density is the ratio of the nutrients available in a diet to the number of calories that diet
has. According to Fuhrman (2017), the healthiness of a diet can be calculated as:

Food with a higher nutrition density has adequate micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals and
less calorific content which makes them more nutritious.

Dr. Weil’s anti-inflammatory food pyramid provides a close match to my diet choices mostly at
home. This includes whole grain and cracked grains, fruits, vegetables, fish, whole soy foods as
well as beans and legumes. This is because my parents are very cautious about the type of diet
