teacher realized a danger but was told she could only drop him from the class, she contacted campus police, tutored him privately but was very afraid of him and always had a student aid in the classroom while tutoring him.

If you were part of the university leadership at Virginia Tech, what would you have done in response to this teacher’s concern? What do you think is the school’s responsibility in situations such as this?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Since the kid of crime committed by the student was completely outrageous,  it would be ideal for the authorities to disallow such a student from school. The tutor does show great concern for a perpetrator, who happens to be her student.  The tutor should leave the matter under the custodians of the law and concentrate on the rightful students. Although commendable to show such kind of compassion towards students,  the tutor is putting her life on danger and good learning environment is not a provision when dealing with a student.

The students ceased to be a member of the class once he was showed the door, the legal framework also has its system which facilitates education needs to convicts.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
