PERT is a statistical tool used in project management designed to analyze
and represent tasks involved in project completion .Applied as decision making
tool used to save time in projects in which time critical. It is commonly used
in conjunction with CPM.
CPM is an algorithm technique for scheduling set
of project activities. Used invariably in many projects e.g aerospace ,
manufacturing and construction projects.
A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart illustrating a project schedule .
Indicates the start and finish dates of summary elements and terminal elements
of a project. They also show the dependency relationships between activities.
It is not a mandatory for the project to use all of them . However, it should
be called upon depending on the nature of the project and risk involved.
