Internal triggers are inward feelings a person experiences which can alter their mood and affect. The examples include the thought process, emotions and emotional reasoning, which all function to either increase or decrease the intensity of one's feelings. whereas,

external triggers  include factors in the immediate or distant environment which leads to a change in the mood and affect of an individual. This includes people, media, government policies or the aspects of a society.
