Evidence-Based Practices in the Treatment Plan

Connection between Theoretical Orientation and Interventions
Dr. Banks integrated theoretical orientations and interventions when addressing
the issue Karen was facing. There is a connection between the interventions and
theoretical orientations, and since more than one approach is used, the chances of
addressing the disorder have been increased. Paring the behavioral skills training,
individual psychotherapy and participation in imaginal exposure to trauma, for instance,
it will help Karen in controlling the behavior of wanting to cause harm to herself. The
combination of the interventions is done through the theory which has been proven to

chances of Karen recovering. If one of the intervention methods is not working, the other
one may be having a positive impact on the patient. There is a connection between the
behavior modification therapy that Karen will undertake, and it is founded on the ABC
behavior module (Comer, 2014). The A represents the antecedent, B describes the
behavior and C is about the behavior consequence. Karen can learn alternative behavior
from the behavior training on how to deal with a relationship ending without using drugs
or trying to harm herself. The training will help create positive reinforcement to Karen
and learn where to apply different skills when facing a hard issue.

made up of different components. The approach is support-oriented when the patient is assisted
in establishing their strengths and weaknesses as well a building the factors which makes a
person appreciate their life. It is cognitive-based, where the assumptions, thoughts, and bel...
