Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

There are different ways how regulatory agencies affect the quality of care. They include, Improving Safety, improving quality of life, improving quality of care, and finally Reducing Prevalence of Unlicensed Homes. The causes includea rapidly growing elderly population with significant levels of physical disability and mental impairment, universal rejection of nursing home care by younger persons with disabilities and their advocates, anda strong preference of the elderly for in-home and community-based services rather than nursing homes. Regulatory agencieshad a positive effect on several quality indicators. These include lower use of psychotropic drugs, lower use of medications contraindicated for the elderly, more operator training, and greater availability of social aids and supportive device. In addition, regulatory agencies had aneffect on the prevalence of unlicensed homes.
