The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code was established to
help federal agencies collect, analyze, and publish statistical data related to different types of
industries in the U.S. economy. As such, the NAICS codes are essential for any person that
wishes to join the government marketplace and do business with the government (Census
Bureau, 2018). Being in the home furnishings industry, out firm retails various types of products
that are used in homes for furnishing except furniture. We deal in home décor and household
furnishes like carpets, wall hangings, and finishes. This paper looks at the intellectual property
issues in the industry and steps that can be taken to protect our intellectual property rights.
