Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

our equation must be in the form of y=mx^2 +xn

putting values gives

4= m4 +2n

12=16m +4n

solving

m=1

n=-1

y=x^2 +-x

y=5^2 -5

y=20

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

Let me clarify it better. There was a time limit I had to beat

that would be greatly appriciated

NB: This is the correct answer.ignore the first

I had forgotten to consider c

quadratic equation is in the form

y=mX^2 +nx +c

substituting value given above gives

4 =4m+2n +c

12 =16m +4n +c

1.5 =m+n+c  using this c= 1.5 -m-n

taking eq 1 and 2

4 =4m+2n +1.5 -m-n

12=16m +4n+1.5-,m-n

the equations become

2.5 =3m+n

10.5 =15m +3n

solving the above through elimination

3(2.5=3m+n)  -

10.5 =15m+3n

3=6m

m=1/2

n=1

c= 1.5-1/2 -1 =0

our quadratic equation should be

y =1/2x^2 +x

so to get the value when x is 5 we just substitute

y =1/2(5^2) + 5

= 17.5

I hope it is now okay
