The article What is pop culture by Ernst Frischer is about a culture which developed in
the united states after the war in the 1950s. This culture is referred to as pop culture. The culture
developed and was embraced by the majority of Americans because it did not discriminate the
social classes. The pop culture served as a uniting factor to all Americans because by liking the
culture, it means that they had one thing in common. The reason why many Americans embraced
pop culture was that they needed a change after the war and thus they had freedom. They wanted
to use the freedom which they had to make decisions regarding what they like and what they do
not want. The theme of the article, therefore, is the theme of change since members of the society
were eager to embrace changes which took place after the war.
Pop culture became common to the citizens because they embraced being popular within
the society which brought them to change from the historical culture. The pop culture
encouraged people to be popular through various ways including playing music. People wanted
