First Museum Visit in Miami
For this particular assignment I decided to visit the FIU Frost Museum located a Florida
International University (FIU) for many reasons. First, I will be attending FIU this upcoming fall
of 2019. Secondly, FIU is only twenty miles from my house via the Florida Turnpike; traveling
time with light traffic is approximately twenty minutes going northbound from Princeton,
Homestead, Florida. Moreover, by providing a student ID card I was able to obtain a free of
charge entrance. I toured around the entire museum for two hours and thirty minutes I was able
to observe many exhibits showcases at the frost Museum.
As I walked inside the Frost after checking in with the museum associate clerk and
receiving a blue circle badges to wear. I started observing many exhibits some were painting I
saw before, during at the time at the museum I didn’t dedicated much time to does painting since
I knew their origin.
The first painting I saw was most beautiful in the sense it was a gas station at night. It
was a woman at a local gas station filling up her tank. At the point forward I sated at bench a
started observing closely and closely the painting a asking myself question. Why is this lady
filling up her tank at night. Is she putting gas a safe neighbor, and lastly what method of payment
did she use. All does question I asked myself prior learning about the painting. After observing I
discovered the name of the painting which is Shea and Zion Flint departarture from Mississippi
at 4AM. The Artist Latoya Ruby Frazier together with Gavin Brows used many techniques such
as chiaroscuros to create a brilliant capture of a women standing by her Chevrolet Cruze in the
early morning adding fuel to run her car to depart to Mississippi.
Secondly, the most interesting painting I saw at the Frost was group of family at a local
road, protesting for and illegal issue. As I got closed to the piece of painting I asked myself what
is the message that does African American Families what to send out. Which my legal
background the I have from working at local law firm. Whenever I see group of people at a stop
light holding sings they are trying to send a message out to the public. In this particular picture
the main issue was poising the water. Observing this capture it remind me when I became a legal
assistance and I wrote a movie critique on the movie “A Civil Action”. The particular issue in
this capture of does families was how they inserted a poisoned chemical into the water lines. The
film I mention it kind of reminded me again of this capture. Lastly, the of this particular
collection is Latoya Ruby Frazier is from Braddock, Pennsylvania.
Moreover, the work of art that I did not like at the museum was one piece of Latoya Ruby
Frazier, because it involves politics. I am not a big fan of politics in the sense I do not like to
follow it because sometimes is not explained crystal clear. This particular painting it involves
President Barack Obama giving a state union speech. However, one thing I liked was how the
family was donating their time to understand the message he was trying to send to the people in
Four nobles the I observed at the museum where special because nobles are one thing that
I enjoy. As I can remember growing up I always had a noble in my hand. They were a collection
four in a display you were able to glance them. I immediately flip the back of the book read the
summary to understand what the message of the author want to send to the reader. Anna Clark
writes a book explain The Flint’s Water and The Poised America Urban Tragedy City, this
particular book was well put together because it explain step by step how did it occur.
A painting of a family protesting at a local street send the message of the sabotage of this
Urban Tragedy City. Also, you can tell as you walked maybe twice that particular exhibit that
they have a particular relation because they are near each other. For this particular assignment I
chosen does two exhibit since the subject takes me back again when I was becoming a legal
assistance and also when I became certified thru the National Association of Legal Assistance
knows as “NALA”.
Lastly, if I had the option to take a piece of art home what would it be. Okay so it time
now for me to chase down my steps back from where I entered the museum. What I would take
home would be a painting I used to my first body paragraph which is Shea and Zion Flint
departarture from Mississippi at 4AM because I liked pictures of cars. My second item I would
take home is a book named What the Eyes Don’t See, reading the title and the book summary
grab my attention and I had the option to take them home I would in a heart beep.
In conclusion this is how my own tour around the Frost museum concluded observing
beautiful painting, observing beautiful building of my new school when I start at the University
on the fall 2019. Exploring on the Building where they is another branch of where I banked at
which is a bank for the legal profession know as University Credit Union, formerly know as
Lawyers Credit Union.
