Parthenogenesis is the process by which female aphids reproduce without fertilization taking place. therefore, the species give birth while the egg matures into an aphid. For every female aphid two generations are expected; its daughter and its granddaughter generations respectively.
Therefore, one can say that parthenogenesis is advantageous to aphids simply because it helps aphids develop resistance to insecticides whenever the species is exposed to any insecticide. furthermore the following two generations above (daughter and granddaughter) would also acquire the resistance gene protecting it from the harmful insecticide.
