The cartoonists use political cartoons to symbolize larger events which had occurred during the
Great War between the Allied powers and the Central Powers (Douglas, R. 2016). The pictures
were used to strengthen the public opinion on what was happening during the time of war. The
historical event in the first cartoon marked the start of the historical event in the second cartoon.
Both these events occurred during the First World War. It was a war between the allied powers
and the central powers which resulted in several effects such as the sinking of ships, the death of
citizens and declaration of intense battle.
