Question description

Have you ever read a book and then watched a movie of the same story? There are usually a lot of differences. You might prefer the movie, or you might prefer the book because of the way the story was told. All writers tell stories, but they tell them in different ways. Style, content, and tone are a few of the tools writers use, but the form the story takes is one of the most important decisions writers must make. Will a writer craft a screenplay, a novel, a play, a short story, or a poem to express his or her ideas?

Think about the various forms of storytelling that you have encountered as a reader or viewer. What are they? What are the strengths of each form? What are the weaknesses? Why do you think a writer might choose one form over another?
