1. Factors which limit local law enforcement against cybercrime
As per the assigned readings, local law enforcement against cybercrime experience
hindrances. Most of the hindrances are self-inflicted as they are a result of jurisdictional issues.
There has been a rise in the task forces number at the regional, county, local as well as state level
to deal with crime. However, the employees in law enforcement do not understand cybercrimes
and how to prosecute these crimes (Taylor, 2011). They also do not have sufficient knowledge
on processing and treating computer crime scenes. They therefore, do not know how to preserve
evidence for investigation to take place which facilitates law enforcement. Therefore, if local law
enforcement does not recognize that a certain cyber-crime was committed, no investigations will
happen.
