Although there are instances when torture methods have been useful in helping the CIA
get more information from their victims, in many cases, these strategies only contribute to
increased terrorist activities and provision of untruthful information by the terrorists (BBC News,
2014). I agree with you that some of the suspected individuals interrogated by the CIA are
usually not terrorists. As such torturing them to acquire information can be considered a
violation of human rights. The White House should reconsider its decision on approving
waterboarding as a torture method (Gaines & Kappeler, 2012, p. 218)...
