For this discussion, use the Internet to locate articles on ageism and post links to the examples you have located. You may use information from your course readings to inform your post. To complete this discussion:
- Identify a type of ageism or misconception about aging.
- Examine several different examples of the type of ageism or misconception.
- Discuss examples that challenge the ageist thinking.
- Analyze the ramifications of belief in these myths by society and by elders themselves.
- What dangers do these myths pose to professionals in human services and health care?
- How should you as an administrator or gerontology professional address these sorts of myths?
