Explain the nature versus nurture controversy when it comes to examining human development. Which influence do you feel is most important and why?

The nature versus nurture debate is about the relative influence of the innate attributes of an individual as opposed to the experiences from the environment in which one is brought up in the determination of individual differences in physical and behavioral traits. The philosophy that humans acquire most or all of their behavioral traits from "nurture" is known as tabula rasa. Recently, both of these factors have been recognized as playing interacting roles in development. And so several psychologists consider the question naive and representing an outdated  type of information

The nurture influence is more important as it contributes to almost all of an individuals behavioral attributes. Much as the two influences interact to determain the behavior of an individual the nurture attributes are more controlled and hence more important.
