Workplace Memo To: All employees From: Communications Officer Date: February 07, 2019 Subject: Keeping our break and lunch areas clean The way we maintain our working spaces defines us. The spaces we encounter on a daily basis within our working area form part of the entire working space. As a result, I would wish to talk about our break and lunch areas within the building. There has been a rising concern from the management as to the condition in which we keep them with regard to cleanliness. Unfortunately, there has been a recent trend of leaving everything behind after one has had a snack or a bite during the lunch or break hours. This makes it so hard for the cleaning crew to keep our environment clean and attractive and is also unfair to them since they are a part of this organization like the rest of us. This leaves the rooms dirty and it reflects a bad culture for all of us. As a result, I have come up with a list of the things we should all do to keep these spaces clean. Once we are done with the breaks or lunches, it is everyone's responsibility to take out whatever leftovers they have or wrappers or any form of waste and throw it into the designated dustbins. Any spills on the counters also need to be cleaned by the people responsible for them. The food that we leave on our refrigerators for long without checking has been reported to go bad. This causes a foul smell and may probably damage other employees' items in the same refrigerator. As a result, it is upon each one of us to ensure that we check the items we leave in the refrigerators. If it is almost going bad, please dispose of in the right way. Failure to do so will most likely result in adverse measures such as empowering the cleaning team to take it out.
