Introduction
Gender bias is a common thing in the society yet it is not supposed to happen considering
that all people have equal rights as per the law governing the country today. Gender bias happens
consciously or unconsciously. Traditionally women faced bias in the society in general. In most
parts of the world today, people take women as inferior gender to men in society.
Most cultures teach their young ones that males have power over females. This spread
the stereotype against women in the society unconsciously. Additionally, people associate men to
the things that make them appear superior and associate women with the things that make them
feel inferior. For example, most cultures have a tradition that equates women and men to certain
tasks both at work and at home. For example, universally, people associate women with home
activities such as taking care of children and cooking. On the other hand, people associate men
with high-level jobs such as office work, building, and construction among others. This is a
common bias that society should deal with.
Gender bias
Gender bias is the situation where society links certain gender to certain tasks or norms. It
is also the prejudice towards one gender in society. Every day people make bias decision
unconsciously due to many reasons and at times it is not the fault of a person. In most cases,
people behave in certain ways because of the people around (Blankson, and Achor, 2017).
At times people may freely converse when there is no opposite gender and fail to do the
same when both male and females are present. People make different decisions in a society based
on the environment they are brought up in. For example, society may define the role of people in
a biased way. For example, society may allocate duties to the people based on their beliefs on the
