Water has been an issue in so many countries. However, what many people do not realize
is that water wastage is a bigger issue. Water wastage is the act of wasting water or as some
people might say not putting it into good use. This has resulted in concerns being raised about
water wastage (Olmstead, et al. 2012). People have also tried to invent water taps that will try
and conserve water. Water conservation is one of the most important rising issues of today.
However, there are suggestions for raising the prices of water. From an economic point of view,
and the supply and demand principles, raising the prices of water will decrease its wastage.
However, questions have been raised regarding this approach. This paper will try and look at the
effectiveness of raising the price of water on its wastage.
Raising the prices of water will only affect the poor and will have little or no effect on
people who can afford it. This has been an issue that has been raised in regard to shooting the
prices of water. It is important to note that raising the price of water should create no problems
for middle-class families and poor people. Minimal per capita could be established. This will
mean that the prices will still be the same but will increase a notch higher if the person or people
use it up to a certain rate. This is a solution for people who are concerned that this will affect
