Finding the Output

Look at the function machine below:

To work out the output, we need to take the input and multiply by 5. This gives an output of 20.

Now look at the double function machine below:

This time, we need to multiply the input by 2 and then subtract 1. This gives an output of 9.

I get it, but do you use the same input for all the other machines in order to get a specific answer? Like, what it says in the image I put up...I'm not sure if i continue using the input of 16 to the other machines- get me?
