Molarity by dilution
Acids are usually acquired from chemical supply houses in concentrated form. These acids are diluted to the desired concentration by adding water. Since moles of acids before dilution = moles acid after dilution , and moles of acid =MxV then, M1xV1 = M2xV2, solve the following problems.1) how much concentrated 18 M sulfuric acid is needed to prepare 250 mL of a 6.0 M solution?

Biology Question
Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapters 3 and 4 in your course textbook. Now that you have cast your votes for the Arzaville Food Resilience Plan, it is time to explain your choices to the class. Please make a post of at least 150 words in which youIdentify (briefly) the plan elements on which you voted.Explain why you selected each one. Each of the elements with an explanation is worth .5 point for a total of 1.5 points.Note: You will not be able to view others’ posts until you have made your own. At the end of the week, the instructor will post the winning Arzaville Food Resilience Plan, which will include the top three ideas selected by the class. In cases where two action items are judged by the instructor to be nearly identical, the instructor reserves the right to combine the ideas into a single one (and add votes together) in order to determine the winning ideas. This plan will be posted in the Announcements area of the classroom.

Topic 1 The Scientific Method
Before responding to this discussion, please read the Scientific Method Tutorial and if needed review optional readings.
Describe an example of how you use the scientific method in your daily life. Which observation(s) lead you to use the scientific method? State a good hypothesis, how you are testing the hypothesis (the experiment), results and conclusion. What are the control and treatment groups in your experiment? What is the dependent and independent variables in your experiment? Name at least one controlled variable.
Your main response should be a minimum of 150 words (more is OK). You must also post a minimum of one significant reply to classmate's post that contribute to their learning. The reply should be a minimum of 100 words.
In your replies please provide suggestions for how the other students' scientific method examples can be improved. Examples: How can the hypothesis be edited to make it more specific (better)? Is a proper control group included? Are the independent, dependent and controlled variables correctly identified? How can the experimental design be improved? Also consider sharing any useful videos, tutorials or web-sites that helped you better understand the scientific method.

Good morning,
Hopefully I get this right, if anyone wants to help, by all means ??.
Step 1. I used the Scientific Method, in order to feed my American Bully (dog). My firs observation was that the dog wasn’t eating. Is it the food, or something else.
Step 2. Proposed hypothesis, doesn’t want food because, it does not have snacks that it used to consume.
Step 3. I set up a basic meal, and added couple meals with different snacks.
Step 4. After a few days, she preferred the meals with snacks, than the basic meals. The basic meal was not even touched.
Step 5. State Conclusion, while feeding the American Bully provided a meal with snacks, to ensure the dog consume the meals.
Hope you guys like this summary, like I said I’m a bit unsure, so feel free of helping.

Good morning class,
After reviewing this week’s learning materials and going over the discussion topic, I found myself really scratching my head as to how I personally utilize the scientific method in my daily life. A lot of what we do each day is known. We are creatures of habit, at least I know I am. I began to think about what do I enjoy doing and how can I view that in terms of the scientific method. After some reflection I came up with the following example.
Observation: I have had a steady gym routine that I have done over the course of four weeks. I observe that I feel stronger in a certain exercise and can increase the weight above what I felt comfortable with four weeks ago.
Hypothesis: The weight I have been lifting is easier to lift, so I can now increase the weight.
Testing the hypothesis: This portion is simply adding the weight that I was unable to lift four weeks ago and attempting to complete the exercise without damaging form or injury to myself.
Controlled Variable: I have attempted this exercise every monday at the same time, at the same gym. Meal before the gym has stayed constant as well.
Control Group: The weight I have used on the exercise the last four weeks.
Experimental Group: The added weight (increments of 20 pounds)
Dependant Variable: The exact exercise (Bench Press).
Independant Variable: The amount of weight.
Analysing the Data: Was I able to complete the exercise? Did I have to jeopardize a safe movement form in order to lift the weight?
Conclusion: After four weeks, I typically find that I have gained strength and I am able to lift the increased weight comfortably.
