Annotated Bibliography Assignment Your final assignment for the University Track Graduate Reading course is to compile and write an annotated bibliography. An annotated bibliography is, as the name implies, a bibliography or list of references and primary sources along with your own summaries and evaluations of the sources. These are often used in research writing as a preliminary step in data gathering and evaluating before writing a major piece of academic research writing. You can read more about annotated bibliographies here: http://guides.library.cornell.edu/annotatedbibliography For this assignment, you will compile at least seven sources (your original three main articles that you’ve been working on all session, plus four new academic articles also related to your field of study). You have had extensive and varied practice in reading the original three articles. In the real world though, you won’t have the luxury of reading an article multiple times or over such an extended period of time. Graduate classes often require students to read multiple lengthy academic articles in a single week for a single class. The skills you have learned can still apply, but you need to choose when to apply them and to what extent. The purpose of having you choose an additional four articles is so that you will not be able to read them in their entirety and apply all of the skills we’ve learned and practiced—that is the point. You will be forced to apply smarter strategies to determine the main idea and methodology of a given academic text quickly (e.g., reading the abstract, intro, conclusion, discussion, skimming article by reading first and last sentence of key paragraphs, etc.). Each source in your annotated bibliography should be followed by a two paragraph (summary and critique) (or evaluation) of that article’s strengths and weaknesses (or limitations). Each paragraph need only be between 4-7 sentences—succinctness is crucial. Follow APA formatting guidelines for this assignment (see OWL website for help https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/03/).

MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

2

Introduction
Myocardial infarction also referred to many as a heart attack is a medical condition where
the heart tissues in the heart get damaged as a result of decreased or lack of blood flow. In most
cases, a blood clot may be carried in the arteries and when it blocks the blood flow, body tissues
lack the oxygenated blood and thus begin to die. Some of the common symptoms of myocardial
infarction include; hurt and uneasiness within the chest, irregular heartbeats, apprehension as
well as exhaustion. At times these discomforts might be felt along the neck, back, shoulders and
sometimes the jaws. Overall, women are much affected by this condition than men. Thesis: This
inscription is an annotated bibliography of the occurrences of myocardial infarction in the
medical realms of the 21st century.
Annotated Bibliography
Mollon, L., & Bhattacharjee, S. (2017). Health-related quality of life among myocardial
infarction survivors in the United States: a propensity scores matched
analysis. Health and quality of life outcomes, 15(1), 235.
This contribution has some imperative significance in this paper as it has probed on the
later health statuses of the myocardial infarction survivors within the USA. The main aim of this
study was to investigate the health quality of myocardial infarction survivors according to their
personality social risk features and characteristics such as smoking, BMI et cetera.
This research is acknowledgeable as the research study viewed this investigation from
diverse viewpoints such as the life activities of MI survivors. It has also compared these results
to the daily activities of the normal healthy American. In its results, the number of tested MI
