A VW Beetle goes from 0 to 64.4 mi/h with an acceleration of +2.32 m/s2.

(a) How much time does it take for the Beetle to reach this speed?

(b) A top-fuel dragster can go from 0 to 60.0 mi/h in 0.600 s. Find the acceleration of the dragster.

Where:
v0 = initial velocity
v = final velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

64.4 =0 + 2.32 (t)

convert miles per hour to m/s gives 28.7894

28.7894=2.32t

t=28.7894/2.32

t= 12.40922 s


b. 0 to 60.0 mi/h in 0.600 s

find acceleration

a = (v - v0)/t

Where:
v0 = initial velocity
v = final velocity
a = acceleration
t = time

a=60/0.6

a = 100 m/s2

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! For the second question on the dragster, how did you get the 100m/s^2. I did the same conversion you did for part a by turning mi/h to m/s^2 and got 26.8. I divided by .6 and got 44.7m/s^2. Did I do something wrong?
