A VW Beetle goes from 0 to 64.4 mi/h with an acceleration of +2.32 m/s2.

(a) How much time does it take for the Beetle to reach this speed?

first convert miles per hour into meter per second

( 1 mile = 1609.34 m) 

( 1 hour = 60*60s=3600s)



1) 64.4 mi/h =  64.4 * 1609.34 m / 3600s

                  = 28.7893 m/s


  time taken = velocity change/ acceleration

                    = 28.7893 - 0 / 2.32

                    = 12.4091  seconds................................ANSWER


2)   60.0 mi/h  = 60*1609.34 / 3600

                      = 26.8223


 acceleration = velocity change/ time taken

                      = 26.8223- 0 / 0.6

                      = 44.7039 m/s^2......................................ANSWER
