A description of the intended audience 4. Your brief opinion of the source 5. Your search strategy Grammar: All answers have been proofread and are clearly written. 10 MLA: Sources are correctly cited. 10 Total Points: 100 Your assignment should be 5 to 7 pages. Below is an example of an MLA style annotation. You need seven of them pertaining to your topic. Lamott, Anne. Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life. Anchor Books, 1995. Lamott's book offers honest advice on the nature of a writing life, complete with its insecurities and failures. Taking a humorous approach to the realities of being a writer, the chapters in Lamott's book are wry and anecdotal and offer advice on everything from plot development to jealousy, from perfectionism to struggling with one's own internal critic. In the process, Lamott includes writing exercises designed to be both productive and fun. Lamott offers sane advice for those struggling with the anxieties of writing, but her main project seems to be offering the reader a reality check regarding writing, publishing, and struggling with one's own imperfect humanity in the process. Rather than a practical handbook to producing and/or publishing, this text is indispensable because of its honest perspective, its down-to-earth humor, and its encouraging approach. Chapters in this text could easily be included in the curriculum for a writing class. Several of the chapters in Part 1 address the writing process and would serve to generate discussion on students' own drafting and revising processes. Some of the writing exercises would also be appropriate for generating classroom writing exercises. Students should find Lamott's style both engaging and enjoyable. In the sample annotation above, the writer includes three paragraphs: a summary, an evaluation of the text, and a reflection on its applicability to his/her own research, respectively.

Harmful Effects of Genetically Modified Organisms
Search strategy
I found these articles by limiting the google scholar database using Boolean search
operators. Correctly, I used the OR operator by searching “effects or “impact” of “genetically
modified organisms.” However, the result was broader, and I had to use the AND operator by
searching Harmful Effects” and “Genetically Modified Organisms,” and I was able to find the
seven articles below.
Bakshi, Anita. "Potential adverse health effects of genetically modified crops." Journal of
Toxicology and Environmental Health, Part B 6.3 (2015): 211-225.
According to Anita, a genetically modified organism can be used to eliminate starvation
and hunger mostly in developing countries. Critics of the technology argue that GMO products
contain toxic since they contain new genes. However, after authors reviewed the various
literature, they established that the current the genetically modified organism available in the
market are safe and their use is not associated with any health problems. However, the authors
still recommend further studies to ascertain the safety of the food consumed by human beings.
The article is useful since it provided up to date information on genetic modification
because the authors used current information available to critic the proposal from the past opponent
of GMO products. Moreover, this article is credible since the authors of the paper are renowned
scholars in the field of environmental health, and they have published numerous reports related to

the health effect of genetically modified food as such, their experience in genetic studies was
critical in ascertaining the validity of the article.
Primarily, the information in the report will be essential in identifying the latest discoveries
that are not consistent with the research findings. Most importantly, even though the research will
primarily refute the use of GMO product, it will be essential to identify some importance of the
products to the society. Therefore the article will be instrumental in identifying these positive
impacts of GMO products to the society. Therefore this journal will be useful in identifying the
advantages of GMO products, and at the same time, it will provide a critic to the argument in the
research.
Carvalho, Fernando P. "Pesticides, environment, and food safety." Food and Energy Security 6.2
(2017): 48-60.
According to Carvalho, the current and future increase in production of food must go
along with the production of excellent quality and with few toxic contaminants. Most
