Engagement and Field Education Experience at JCCA Pleasantville Campus
JCCA Pleasantville Campus is among the oldest and highly respected residential care
initiatives offered by the agency. Overall, the organization is concerned with both the
physical and mental welfare of vulnerable children in society, with the aim to ensure their
well-being, permanency, and safety. In this quest, there are several different types of social
services offered at the campus, which have been grouped into different programs in a bid to
ensure that the needs of every client are taken care of (“Pleasantville Cottage School –
JCCA”, 2019). Some of these social services include foster care, care management, familial
support, education, and programs for children who have been sexually abused among others.
The clientele served by the agency include individuals from different ethnic, racial and
religious backgrounds. Consequently, guided by the Jewish commission of “tikkun olam”, the
agency is also devoted to providing educational, vocational, recreational and mental health
services to members of the Jewish community who are mostly immigrants and are under
