Confidence Intervals
Many people do not “like” or “trust” single point estimates for things they
need measured. Looking back at the data examples you have provided in
the previous discussion questions on this issue, how might adding
confidence intervals help managers accept the results better? Why?
Ask a manger in your organization if they would prefer a single point
estimate or a range for important measures, and why? Please share what
they say.
Guided Response: Review several of your classmates’ posts. Respond to
at least two classmates by commenting on whether or not you think adding
or using confidence intervals would result in greater acceptance. Explain if
you agree or disagree with the role of a confidence interval in the
interpretation of the answer.
Chi-Square Tests
Chi-square tests are great to show if distributions differ or if two variables
interact in producing outcomes. What are some examples of variables that
you might want to check using the chi-square tests? What would these
results tell you?
Guided Response: Review several of your classmates’ posts. Respond to
at least two classmates by commenting on how this information might be
used to make business decisions.

Confidence Interval Problem Discussion
Write a confidence interval problem:
Option 1:
Think about a population mean that you may be interested in and propose a confidence interval problem for this parameter. Your data values should be approximately normal.
For example, you may want to estimate the population mean number of times that adults go out for dinner each week. Your data could be that you spoke with seven people you know and found that they went out 2, 0, 1, 5, 0, 2, and 3 times last week. You then would choose to calculate a 95% (or another level) confidence interval for the population mean.
Assume a random sample was chosen, which is required to determine a confidence interval.

I will provide you witht he data set and you have to download SPSS if you do not already have it. I will also send assignment with rubric so you know how it is graded. We have to provide sufficient answers to support our knowledge. the book for the class is Behavioral Sciences STAT - With Access 2ND 15Author: Heiman, GaryISBN-13: 978-1-285-45814-4ISBN-10: 1-285-45814-1Edition/Copyright: 2ND 15Publisher: Wadsworth, Incwill copy and paste assignment below:Scenario: Imagine you are a researcher who is interested in studying whether sleep deprivation leads to increased reaction times (i.e., being slower) when driving. You randomly select a sample of 30 licensed drivers. Fifteen participants are randomly assigned to get 5 hours of sleep for three consecutive nights. The other 15 participants are randomly assigned to get 8 hours of sleep for three consecutive nights. For the purposes of this Assignment, assume that all participants sleep exactly the required amounts. After the third night, all participants take a driving simulation test that measures their reaction times. You can find the data for this Assignment in the Weekly Data Set forum. By Day 7To complete this Assignment, submit a response to each of the following. Use SPSS to determine if amount of sleep is related to reaction time.Explain whether the researcher should use an independent-samples t-test or a related-samples t-test for this scenario. Provide a rationale for your decision.Identify the independent variable and dependent variable.Knowing the researcher believes that people who sleep less will have slower reaction times, state the null hypothesis and alternate hypothesis in words (not formulas).Explain whether the researcher should use a one-tailed test or two-tailed test and why.Identify the obtained t value for this data set using SPSS and report it in your answer document.State the degrees of freedom and explain how you calculated it by hand.Identify the p value using SPSS and report it in your answer document.Explain whether the researcher should retain or reject the null hypothesis. Provide a rationale for your decision. Are the results statistically significant?Explain what the researcher can conclude about the relationship between amount of sleep and reaction times.Be sure to fully explain the rationale for your answer to each question, including evidence from the text and Learning Resources.Provide an APA reference list.Submit three documents for grading:Your text (Word) document with your answers and explanations to the assignment questions, your SPSS Data file, and your SPSS Output file.DATA SET BELOW:

Benchmark Assignment. Excel and Word.
Review "Benchmark Assignment - Data Analysis Case Study" and "Benchmark Assignment - Data Analysis Case Study Data" for this topic's case study, evaluating operations for a local restaurant.Although your friend and restauranteur Michael Tanaglia offered to go over your findings in person, you believe it would be appropriate to also prepare a report and document your findings in writing. In a 1,000-1,250-word report, explain your approach for each evaluation and the rationale for the methods you used. Include any recommendations based on customer satisfaction, forecasting, and staff scheduling data.Use an Excel spreadsheet file for the calculations and explanations. Cells should contain the formulas (i.e., if a formula was used to calculate the entry in that cell). Students are highly encouraged to use the "Benchmark Assignment - Data Analysis Case Study Template" and "Benchmark Assignment - Data Analysis Case Study Linear Programming Template" to complete this assignment.Mac users can use StatPlus:mac LE, free of charge, from AnalystSoft.Prepare the assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
