The American history of labor and workers rights before 1865 was defined by formation
of movement and parties that sought to fight for the fair treatment of the workers. The period saw
the rise of individuals and parties that were defaulted to seeing the balanced rise of the workers
and the entire labor market. The major party was the Socialist Party that has stood for the right of
all workers to organize, formal control of the industry, and the right for the workers to receive
fair pay. The socialist party thus was a platform for the workers to air their grievances, present
their issues, and also a force for good working conditions, fair pay, and good relations with the
employers.
On the other hand, the American Federation of Labor (AFL) as workers union founded
in Columbus, Ohio, in December 1886 played a key role in uniting and fighting for workers
