Ellis Island is a historical site located between New York and New Jersey, at the mouth
of Hudson River. The island is a historical site and was opened in 1892 and was closed in 1954.
The island served for more than 6o years. Most of the immigrants in the United States passed
through the doors of the island. According to estimations, nearly 40% of the entire current U.S
citizens can trace at least a solitary of their ancestors to this island (Cannato & Hogan, 2009).
After donations of more than 150 million U.S dollars from Americans, the island opened as a
museum to the public in 1990.
