I need to understand the steps to solving the following three algebra problems:

(4x-5)/(2-x) = - (9/2) 9x/4 + 7/8 = 4x - 3 x/88 -21 = 3x - 18

It's obvious I have trouble doing work with fractions. I need to understand each step.

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

4X-5/2-X=-9/2

Cross multiply you get

2(4X-5)=-9(2-X)

Open brackets

8X-10=-18+9X

Collect like terms

-10+18=9X-8X

SOLVE

X=8

9x/4 + 7/8 = 4x - 3

9X/4-4X=-3-7/8

-7X/16=-30/8

8*7X=30*16

7X=60

X=8 4/60

X=8 1/15

x/88 -21 = 3x - 18

collect like terms

x/88-3X=-18+21

-263X/88=3

-263X= 264

X=-264/263

X=-1 1/263

I don't understand the second problem's steps. The answer is suppose to be 2.21. How did you get -30/8.

I get -7x/4 = -31/8 Then cross multiplying will lead the 2.21 as the answer.

sorry, its true -7-23=-31

-7X/4=-31/8

-7X*8=-31*4

X=2.21

THANKS

Thanks for your help. I love Legolas! I'm done!
