To convert a number a base two number, one multiplies each of the digits with two rasied to the power of its place position from the right starting from position zero. Then they add up the result.

example:

A base 2 number like 110111 to base ten becomes

1 x 2^{5} + 1 x 2^{4} + 0 x 2^{3} +1 x 2^{2} + 1 x 2^{1} +1 x 2^{0}

32+16 +0 +4 +2 +1
