The article was study undertaken on “Food Deserts” as well as how it impacts the
health of the public and the limited financial resources. Lillian MacNell and Sarah Brown
realized that in Raleigh, there were supermarkets which sold many vegetables and fresh
produce. However, the neighbouring stores on the contrary, offered little or no vegetable or
fresh products. Upon interviewing some of the locals, they discovered that the
neighborhood stores indeed had food but the food was either of low quality or higher than
that stocked in supermarkets. The inference that was drawn from the study was that the
