DISCRIMINATION OF RECENT IMMIGRANTS IN THE ARMY
Discrimination is an act of an individual or a group being prejudiced by another.
Discrimination is used to highlight the treatment difference of different people or different
groups who have been singled out intentionally or are denied opportunities. There have been
many forms of discrimination in the United States Army against minorities like AfricanAmerican, LGBTQ, women, disabled people, and recent immigrants groups (Kelly, 2018). This
paper focuses on discrimination against recent immigrants groups who have joined or are willing
to join the U.S. military. I have chosen recent immigrants groups as my focus category because
of the ongoing national debate on amending immigration laws to restrict some immigrants
entering the United States and how these proposed legal changes have affected rights of
immigrants to serve in the U.S. military.
