Introduction
Making a personal change involves determining one or things that either need to be
improved or abandoned. People have different goals or targets that they need to achieve, and part
of the process is to determine where one stands versus where one wants to reach and lay down
appropriate measures moving forward. For real change to occur, one needs to measure progress
often. There are various methods of measuring progress. Force Field Analysis (FFA) is one of
the methods used to analyze change, and this paper describes the concept of FFA and an example
of a personal change I want to make using it.
The concept of Force Field Analysis
The ideas behind FFA were put together by Kurt Lewin. Lewin observed force field
diagrams and concluded that for anything to balance, there ought to be two sets of opposing
