The workplace is rapidly changing in the current society more than ever witnessed. The
World Economic Forum estimates that 35% of skills that are required in a job today may not get
considered in a few years to come (WEC, 2017). These revelations and estimates call for a
change in how people will prepare for the future workplace. Skills and expertise that will match
the required jobs should be the focus today by potential employees. Some of the skills that
should get focused on are soft skills. Changes in technology and economy will impact the skills
required by employers. However, strategies exist to help remedy the situation.
Impact of the Economy
Employers' ability to hire will get impacted by the economy. Changes in the economy
will significantly impact the skills required by employers in the future. For instance, the
