Billeto R. McGee
February 27, 2019
The subject is in reference to sales and marketing and promotion of the services of a
telecommunications company referred to as Smartex Public Limited Company, henceforth termed
as SPLC. The interviewee, Madam Scottie is the Director of the sales and marketing and promotion
department of the company. She has a degree in Business Management, a master’s degree in Public
Relations and Communication, and is a Certified Professional Accountant. Previously, madam
Scottie has worked in the national oil company, a government parastatal, as the head of public
relations and customer care. She has experience spanning for a period of about twenty two years
and qualified to take the interview with an assurance that the answers given are a true reflection of
the current market dynamics and challenges facing the business sector today.
I first established contact when I read about her qualifications and the great work she was doing in
her company through the company website, shortly after she was declared the employee of the
year by the multibillion company. I then wrote her an email through her office, requesting for an
interview with her, with a strict promise that it was majorly for an academic purpose, to which she
agreed upon, and scheduled the interview thereof. The interview took place in her office and it
took approximately about forty five minutes
The following are the questions that I asked during the interview.
a. What drives you towards your goal?
b. What is your greatest achievement in your life, in respect to your career?
c. What is the greatest challenge that you face in your career?
d. Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

e. What can you tell the other people outside there, especially the youth regarding their career
choices in life?
In response, Madam Scottie averred that the passion and the zeal she has towards making the
society a better place through economic empowerment and providing opportunities for others
under her flagship, especially through short term employment contracts for sales, marketing and
promotion of the company products drives her in career. This in turn translates to be her greatest
achievement I life, the achievement of empowering others and touching lives.
“The greatest challenge we face as a company is unfavorable and ever changing government
policies that are ever affecting our way of doing business.” Said madam Scottie. In the next five
years, she averred that she sees herself in her own company and encouraged the youth to focus on
their goals and not give up.
The interview helps me with the interview on the premise that I am able to understand and
appreciate the dynamics that exist in our Business world and the existing business policies in place
and their effects on the way the economy is run. The application of government policies to
formulate company policies in line with those of the government, and target the youth as my main
employees, due to their outgoing nature and higher productivity.
