Discussion 1 (a) Organizations vary in their types of funding sources. Funding often depends on the type of organization: public or private, for-profit, or non-profit. With these various avenues of funding also comes various levels of influence the funding has on the agency. Many funds come with stipulations that dictate how they are used by the agency. For example, most government funding sources have very stringent demands that are accompanied by layers of complex regulations. Private funding sources may require less paperwork and stringent guidelines, but they may have ideological expectations that the agency upholds. It is a delicate balance to accept funding from sources while not compromising the agency mission statement and client services. In this Discussion, you critically assess funding sources and how they affect organizations receiving their support.For this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources and how funding sources affect the agencies receiving the money as well as the noncash revenues of the agency.Post the following:Identify one example of a funding source for an agency.Explain how this funding source could affect the services an agency provides for its clients.Discussion 1(b) Client systems-Social workers interact with client systems of many sizes and utilize their knowledge to promote the best interest of their client systems. They must be knowledgeable of not only how systems interface with one another, but also with how systems may need to change in order to meet the needs of its clients. Systemic change in macro settings can involve these systems working together: initiator, change agent, client, support, controlling, host, implementing, target, and action. These systems work together to create change. This Discussion focuses on macro-level client systems and how these systems have an impact on social services.  select a relevant workplace at which you could be of service, after acquiring the learning objectives of the course.  For each lecture, I simply want you to suggest workplaces in which your knowledge acquired in the course could be put to good use. For example, for the research lecture, you could suggest being a research assistant to a researcher who studies aging and then explain why this could be a good fit. Essentially, in what ways could you be of service to a researcher, based on what you learned in that lecture. For the physical changes lecture, you could suggest working at a rehabilitation centre because of your insight into how our mobility changes over time. You do not need to state specific workplaces locations, just general places (e.g., long-term care facility, research assistant for a professor, etc.). The places can include adults of all ages, such as workplaces that offer preventative services for aging more optimally (e.g., rehabilitation).  

Instructions Social workers recognize that the dimensions of diversity are understood as the intersectionality of multiple factors including but not limited to age, class, color, culture, disability and ability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, immigration status, marital status, political ideology, race, religion/spirituality, sex, sexual orientation, and tribal sovereign status.  Select an adolescent from a vulnerable and/or diverse population who is experiencing the onset of a mental illness disorder. In a written report, describe your assessment and plan for evidenced based interventions. Include a diagnosis based on DSM-5 guidelines as well as any additional information you would consider to determine whether or not you should recommend hospitalization. Be sure to explain the influence of personal values that come in to play when engaging in diversity and difference in practice when working with this specific populations.  Include your insights related to understanding that, as a consequence of difference, a person’s life experiences may include oppression, poverty, marginalization, and alienation as well as privilege, power, and acclaim. Determine how your personal examination of values could help other social workers assist clients with the same diagnosis, or who belong to the same vulnerable and/or diverse population. Finally, be sure to include content related to knowledge about evidence-informed interventions to achieve the goals of clients and constituencies. Social workers understand theories of human behavior and the social environment, and critically evaluate and apply this knowledge to effectively intervene with clients and constituencies by analyzing and implementing evidence-informed interventions to achieve client and constituency goals. Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
